Cooma Cottage was built in 1835 and is the earliest surviving weather board cottage in the district. The great Australian explorer Hamilton Hume bought the house in 1840 and made many extensions. What you see now is a unique bungalow with palladian-style wings, rooms depicting early colonial building techniques and an impressive brick stable. The garden and grounds are ideal for a family picnic. The annual "Hume's Heyday Family Fun Day" at Cooma Cottage is on in April, and we host Carols at Cooma Cottage in December.
